I created a seven-piece line of skincare products and an in-store display. Victory Skin was a product line I invented for a women’s sportswear company. In my market research I discovered that women are joining sporting events with great enthusiasm. There are new clothing lines trying to keep up with the trend, but there are no skincare products.
I felt the bottles needed to be clean and simple and not too “frilly” and not too masculine. The concept of the design was “finish line” and the aesthetic was inspired by the experience of being in a race. Inspired by the design of top-of-the-line Swiss bikes and the attire female racers were wearing in triathlons and marathons. The most visible piece of information on racers was the number pinned to their side. I decided to give each product a number and to make that more prominent than anything else on the packaging. The angle reflects the feeling of speed. The colour coding separates types of products into sub-categories. Sun related goods are orange, pre-race skincare is green and post-race recovery products are purple.
